Ransomware Gang Arrested for Spreading Locky to Hospitals

Some good news for this week! Members of a ransomware gang who was spreading Locky ransomware to hospitals have been arrested. They intended to target more health institutions with Locky or BadRabbit infections.
Vigilante hackers target ‘scammers’ with ransomware, DDoS attacks (Bleeping Computer)
A group of hackers have rebranded their extortion schemes as justice. This group has started to target companies performing what they call “loan scams.” According to the hackers, the companies take money, but do not deliver on their side of the loan.
Adobe issues out-of-band patch to fix remote code execution flaw in animation software (ZDNet)
Typically companies stop supporting products after a while. Issuing an out of band patch isn’t unheard of, but it usually isn’t common either. However, Adobe has been issuing multiple patches for out-of-band products this year.
More intuitive privacy and security controls in Chrome (Google)
Google wrote a blog post about changes they’re making to Chrome. It focuses on making users more safe and secure online. The controls have been updated along with a number of other capabilities.
