Last year saw some really intresting global changes for E-Commerce traffic, however how will this effect the web masters and designs for Thailands sites and platforms?

For Thailand, desktop conversion rate is 1.3 times higher than mobile. That means people are more likely to convert on desktops because their big screens allow them to navigate ecommerce platforms more efficiently. They are also more secure when processing payments.

Although the conversion rate on desktop is higher than mobile, ecommerce companies should not focus entirely on desktops, as the country has an increasing mobile traffic.

What needs to happen is the older e-commerce platforms need to be updated and made more tablet and mobile friendly.

Thailand did have the fourth biggest basket size when it comes to online shopping, basket size is in the middle at US$42 with a GDP per capita of US$17,000.
