North Korean Hackers Hacked Famous Hackers With Fake Hacking Website, Google Says (Vice)

Malicious hackers from North Korea setup a fake hacking website. They sent links out to security researchers. There are people who hack products and services to find and report vulnerabilities (like the iOS one above) in order to protect people.

Malwarebytes said it was hacked by the same group who breached SolarWinds (ZDNet)

MalwareBytes became the fourth cybersecurity company hacked by the group who breached SolarWinds. However, they don’t use SolarWinds internally. Instead the hackers exploited a dormant email protection product.

Capitol riot: Seven more people charged in DC federal court (FoxNews)

Days after the attempted insurrection authorities arrested several individuals. Many of the rioters left their faces exposed in pictures and video. People quickly shared those images across social media. It has made it relatively easy for law enforcement to arrest those involved.

New Spotify Patent Involves Monitoring Users’ Speech to Recommend Music (Pitchfork)

In 2018, Spotify applied for a patent to monitor users’ speech and background noise to recommend music to them. The patent was approved January 12th. Spotify would record emotional states, attempt to identify personal information (such as gender and age), and the environment. At this time it is unclear how, when, or even if Spotify will make use of this patent.
